Scott Yeager

Scott Yeager offers a visual diary of his connection to the outdoors through his paintings. Firsthand experience is central to his work, and he creates a constant flow of plein-air sketches that serve as the foundation for larger, more developed studio pieces. He often says, “I live life, and I paint it.”

From a young age, Scott filled sketchbooks with drawings and paintings of plants, animals, and all things of the natural world that continue to inspire him. He was often found beside marshes, rivers, or hillsides with a field scope and sketchpad, studying the forms and rhythms of nature. In adulthood, he studied at the Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona and has continued his development through independent study with other artists.

When not in the field or studio, he can often found in museums studying the work of artists he admires, including Carl Rungius, Charles Russell, William Herbert Dunton, and Phillip R Goodwin.

Scott has exhibited at notable venues including the Couse Sharp Historic Site’s La Luz de Taos, the Brinton Museums Bighorn Rendezvous, the Scottsdale Art Auction, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s Birds in Art exhibition. He has also been accepted into the Arts for the Parks exhibition, sponsored by the National Parks Academy of the Arts.

Scott resides in Woodland Park, Colorado, and exhibits in galleries throughout the American West
